Nottingham Playhouse have selected 10 performers and two stage management students aged 15 years old to take part in Upstart! They applied from schools around Nottingham by application and audition earlier this year. The group will be working with director, Trina Haldar and designer, Parveen Ghir to create a 25 minute performance based on Indian folk tales. Some of the work will be devised and some from a script.
In the week following Shine week the group will tour the performance back out into some of their secondary schools to perform to Year 7 students.
As part of the week the group also get tutorials with staff from the theatre to find out more about possible careers in the industry, a backstage tour and a ticket to see a performance for free.
