With the aid of an Awards for All Grant, the Art Department at Upton Hall School, Wirral was able to embark upon an ambitious project to engage with the both the local and international community. 7 Artists in Residence worked with pupils,staff, parents and members of the public in a series of art and design workshops.An exhibition of work by artists,pupils, staff and the public was on display at the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum in Birkenhead as part of the celebrations for Liverpool 08 Capital of Culture from November 2007 to February 2008. We were joined by a group of international textile artists from the Women in Textile Art group.
The framed art work is to be gifted to Arrowe Park Hospital as a permanent exhibition in the Maternity, Gynaecology and Neo Natal Wards as part of the National Schools Festival. To see more of the background to the project log on to:
